40,000 sq. ft. Military History Museum

On November 4, 2023, the Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park expanded their exhibits to include this 40,000 educational OK Military History Exhibit at the Oakwood Mall.  We are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday 11 - 4 pm.   In 2024 we dedicated it into a permanent military museum.

Enriched program experiences and activities for youth

Our T-33 Simulator

Calling all aspiring aviators and curious minds! Whether you're planning an unforgettable birthday party, a unique team-building event, or just want to experience the thrill of flight with friends, we've got you covered.   Kids of all abilities can explore our  play area located in the Children's  Gallery, just to the right of the entry gate. Young intrepid flyers can strap into a T-33 simulator to test their piloting skills. The aircraft instrumentation  helps kids learn what it takes to control a real flying machine. Sit in the cockpit and operate the controls of a real military cockpit simulator.  This simulator is also handicap accessible in the rear cockpit.

The MIG 21 vs. the F-4 Phantom

Although their attributes were considerably different, the F-4 Phantom and MiG-21 fighters were lethal adversaries in the skies over Vietnam.  During the protracted air war in the skies over Vietnam, two fighter interceptor and air superiority planes emerged as the most prominent aircraft of their type. These were the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom and the Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-21. When these supersonic fighters met in combat, the skills of the individual pilots and sometimes sheer luck were often the deciding factors in the kill ratios .  Chuck DeBellevue is the leading ACE for the Air Force with 6 kills.  See both aircraft in the military exhibit.

F-4 Full Motion Simulator

Experience the ultimate in jet fighter immersion with our F-4 Phantom Simulator, featuring a flown aircraft with a fully operational cockpit and instruments. Prepare for an adrenaline-pumping adventure as you strap in and get ready to be catapulted off an aircraft carrier, rocketing to 160mph in just 3 seconds! It's the most immersive jet fighter experience you'll find in the US.  Our program manager, Justin Messenger, has created a "Red Flag" Training Program for Civil Air Patrol students and aviators interested in hands on military training.  Look for our syllubus and additional details coming soon.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved and make a difference in the lives of those who served.  Call our office  at 580-233-4530 or drop by the exhibit at Oakwood Mall and fill out a volunteer application.  We have needs at both the Vietnam Wall , ML Becker Educational Center and the military exhibit.  Eagle Scout projects are available for boy scouts desiring to achieve that rank. Many colleges value Eagle Scouts because they know they've learned specialized skills, display positive character traits, and are capable leaders.  If you have a eligible scout, we have a multitude of projects to choose from.

F-4 Full Motion Simulator Video

Check out this video about the multi-function displays in the F-4 Full Motion Simulator rear cockpit. The left one is used for navigation and tracking airborne targets. The right one is used for navigation, autopilot, and radio data entry.

Our Mission

The Constitution of the United States is the supreme law of the United States of America. It superseded the Articles of Confederation, the nation's first constitution, in 1789. Originally comprising seven articles, it delineates the national frame and constraints of government.  We have an entire curriculum of teaching materials and docent tours available below:

OK Military History Exhibit Teaches our American War History

The Constitution 101 course provides learners of all ages 7-12 with a basic understanding of the Constitution’s text, history, structure, and case law. Drawing on primary source documents, learners will study the historical and philosophical foundations of America’s founding principles from a range of diverse voices.   Teaching Resources are available below.
