The Woodring Wall of Honor and the City of Enid have partnered for more than 20 years to host the annual City of Enid's Veterans Day Ceremonies. The services are always held on November 11th at 6:30 pm at the Stride Bank Center, 301 S. Independence, Enid, Oklahoma 580-234-1919
The annual Legacy Awards Ceremony honors veterans for their outstanding service to our country and community,. Five veterans are honored and awarded the prestigious Legacy Veteran of the Year Award and one award recognizes a veteran for not only service to their country, but for making a difference serving his or her community. More than 50 legacy veterans have been honored over the last 13 years including many WWII veterans.
This past Veterans Day, following the parade, an exhibit was set up at the Stride Bank Center to bring awareness to our veterans park. Static displays of aircraft, an F-4 simulator, a Model T assembly contest, and the "Huey, the Workhorse of Vietnam" exhibit was on display among many more items. The Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park secured a large military collection from a museum in Augusta, Kansas. The artifacts include a 1920 Jenny aircraft, jeeps, military trucks, a REO Medical Truck, a Iraq Ambulance, 3 gun trucks, a Bird Dog aircraft, M5 attack vehicle, uniforms, equipment, weapons and so much more has been donated to our museum. Exhibits will be rotated through the ML Becker Educational Center until more exhibit space is secured.
